| I would have liked to have posted this earlier, but I've been having deal with a lot of crap at home, along with giving up my Nano story, so I'm sorry for posting this so late. We only have 2 sets of votes, and I need at least 4 before we can move on. Please follow the link here and submit some votes, it would be really awesome if I could get at least 2 more sets before the 21st, or I may just go with what we have, which isn't really all that fair to the people who wrote the stories. So again, please submit your set of votes by the 21st, midnight PST as usual. The link to post votes!

| I'll post the weekly updates here too for people still subscribing to the LJ.
We're going to have weekly updates from now to help remind you of things going on in the project. NaNo is halfway through, so if you want to discuss your own work you are very much welcome to create your own thread in the NaNo board. Also, we have a Holding Court due at the end of the month for those NOT doing NaNo, so please put that on your calendar for later, or better yet, start doing it now! HCs are not difficult and shouldn't take up a lot of your time. Remember, HC's and editing projects are the only mandatory things in this project. Coffee Night is tomorrow as well, and the Fall Challenge is due the 22nd, so you have a little over a week to get that done. Have a good week! -JP

| today: 2,231 words total: 32,411
So, the current "act" in my plot outline consists of a grand total of five sentences.
Those five sentences need to miraculously turn into about 18,000 words.
0.o
That's going to be an exciting challenge.
Quote of the day:
“No jacket—I’ve never needed one.”
“Of course.”
“I, um . . . don’t have any shoes, either.”
“No shoes?” Woods cursed. “You would make a terrible boy scout, you know that?”

| The Princess and the Page Master Day 14 tally: 37330 words Sample:
I then saw her, the timeless Goddess, known as Spiderwoman. She was beautiful. Gothic almost, was a word that described her. She sat demurely upon a large polished stone covered in glyphs, her garments wispy, black and her long legs covered in glittering gems, these like tiny sapphires that turned into tears, or raindrops. I thought this the most beautiful sight. Her eyes were as bright as the sun, her hair covered in silver spiders that skittered about her lithe form shooting out silvery strand like a shawl over her shoulders and resembled a cloak of exquisite craftsmanship. The tiny spiders were singing, and glittering in the surreal light of the unearthly skies overhead. She was surprisingly young looking, close to my age. Her hands were spinning a tapestry that flowed both upwards encompassing the sky like a fan, its rich tones emulating the stunning mesas of Arizona and the desert floor, with its blooming saguaro and their creamy nocturnal flowers. Night and day were in concert, it was hard to describe, but it was glorious all the same. I have never seen anything quite like this place ever. Quotes of note:
“I saw her! Spiderwoman!” I cried and my father beamed.
“You have been blessed by the Goddess my son, I am proud of you and now, you are ready for the journey that lies ahead.”
“Journey?”
“You are going to be under the direct protection of Spiderwoman, I cannot say how she will choose to guide you, but you are gifted and as a shaman, you’ve been granted a rare honor and responsibility.”

Quote of the Day (Wolf and Scarlet finally get a moment!):
His emerald gaze—always more vibrant when adrenaline was coursing through his veins—took in her scrounged up medical supplies and her flushed face.
A second later he had wrapped her up in his arms and buried his face into her hair.
“Oh, yes yes, I know,” said Scarlet, struggling out of his grip. “Now take off your shirt before you bleed to death.”

| The Princess and the Page Master
Day 13 tally: 33692 Sample: I think the first time I got frightened by a being of the other realm occurred not long after my eighth birthday. We had all been looking forward to the trip. The new PowerStation, the local people seemed always to talk about 'the development. I was wondering what all the fuss was about, as it didn't look much and was a little weird. We were told it was good for our people. I too was caught up in all the hype, but little did I realize that I would have my first encounter with an evil spirit being, known as a Dark 1 that very same day.
I and some of my friends went exploring the complex with a couple of members of staff and our teacher. Our guide for the tour wore a cool silver hard had that he had popped onto the heads of some of the boys and a couple of the girls who giggled and everyone, including me, were going, ’wow!’ and enjoying ourselves.
Quotes of the day:
“You hear that?” I said, tilting my head to one side, “I thought I heard something like a snake or a huge –“ I heard it again and jumped.
“You okay, Lulu, you’re kind of acting weird,” she said, and I smiled, looking like I’d seen a ghost and I turned away, still holding Tami’s hand.
I heard a growl, low and undulating, it whooshed past my ears, and a breeze that wasn't from the North West as it should have been made me feel ill and defiled. I closed my eyes and took several deep breaths after the sensation had passed. Maybe I ate something , or maybe something bad was about to happen. I thought it was the latter.

| While google-searching for causes and side effects of sudden blindness, I came across a really neat community: little_details Writers can post random questions about stuff in their stories (like, just for example, what are some causes and side effects of sudden blindness...?), and hope that at least one of the 7,000 people who have it on their watch list will have a clue. May not completely remove the need for actual research, but I can foresee this being very useful. | |

| I clearly need to NOT post my word count goals because then I just feel silly when they don't happen.
Yesterday's goal was 3,000... :(
Yesterday: 943 Total: 24,710
The problem is, I skipped over a semi-major climax scene because I couldn't figure out the logistics (getting from Point A to Point B stuff).
But then I realized that what happened in that climax scene was actually going to have a huge impact on some stuff going forward. So in the interest of NOT having to delete a bunch later (theoretically), I spent about 3 hours yesterday JUST BRAINSTORMING.
And I don't know. I think I've sort of kind of got it figured out but there are still some details that aren't fitting together. *headdesk*
Need to start plowing forward, though, so I guess I'll have to make it work.
In order to meet my initial goal of 30,000 words by the end of today, today's goal is: 5,290 words.
Oops, did it again.
*panic*
Quote of the Day:
“If I ever see that witch again I’ll be casting her into a giant sand trap and see how she likes it.”
“How will you manage that?”
Woods pursed his lips and turned toward her more fully, as if he was looking at her through his ravaged eyelids. “You’re officially cut off from asking intelligent questions, got it?”
“I’m sorry, captain.” | |

| Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever music player you have on random. Step 2: Post a line/stanza from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Bold the songs when someone guesses correctly. (No Cheating) ( I have waaaaaaay too many instrumentals. This might take a while. )I just want to tell you all good luck. We're all counting on you. - Tags:meme time

| The Princess and the Page Master
Days 11 and 12 tally, (I lost a day, likely as I had written over a day/night and went to bed during the day as I had been up all night a few days back! LOL) 32626 words
Sample:
Pixy and Rain dancer, our two cats, one a black kitty and the other a champagne colored tomcat, cute as, with the meow of a girl, so funny in a big strong male made me laugh. I adored my cats. The funny thing was, they could see the lights, or light people, as I called them too. They would play together all the time. Sometimes, the lights would shape shift. Become birds of all colors with spiky feathers, and I heard a kind of birdsong, and the cats were fascinated, leaping, jumping and pouncing on the mice ones, these, elementals as I came to call them years later, were having a great time. I never understood why I was the only one who could see them.
Then one night, I stood on my bed, in my nightdress with my arms raised over my head, as I had seen this lady do in a scary movie. She had summoned the bees to come to her and they covered her from head to toe. V Iuka was terrified of the movie. But he insisted on trying to scare me and played it in the dark. He was a goofy guy, even at seven years of age. Why it was that boys had always supposed that us girls were fraidy-cats, was so silly; that we were so easily scared by their pranks was a big joke on them as they were more scared than we were. On Halloween, while tricking and treating, mom and dad would come with us and my friends, the elementals would swarm around me. But this night, to get back on topic, the room was filled with vibrant color. My body was covered from head to toe, just like that lady in the movie. I was so bright I was giggling and felt so warm and so loved. I told them this and they sang a beautiful song, not in words but in melodic chimes, so pretty.
(Jacy's POV talking to Lady Black Feather, his girlfriend)
“You’re not mad at me?” I said, head hanging low.
She lifted my chin in her cupped hands, smiled, and kissed me gently on the lips. “Of course not, silly. I am honored you think enough of me to tell me how you feel about Lulu…,” and she hugged me tight against her warm body. “You know, I long for a lost love, too. He is far away, in Oklahoma… an electronics engineer. He is white but so sweet and my heart aches for him. But he is so far away. There are lots of women he might get involved with and I can't live like that. I mean, worrying about a girl steeling him away from me and I just need to get over it and so… that and long distance relationships don't often work. I know he writes me, but his correspondence was arriving once a month, now it is every three to four and his emails are shorter and more distant. But I too have wanted to move on like you, Jacy. I do understand.”

I know, what a sad writing day. I didn't get to start until 8:30 and when Jesse went to bed at 9 I was like "oh thank goodness!" and went to bed too.
Today will be better.
Quote of the day:
"I’ve never been to a desert before, of course, but I remember reading about some of Earth’s unique climates when I was a child and I’m pretty sure this would be considered a desert. Very barren. Lots of hills and, um . . .”
“Sand?”
“Yes! That’s all it is. Lots of sand. And it’s beautiful.”
“I bet you won’t be saying that after spending a couple hours in it,” said Woods.

| WTF?
Big fail, Channel 7 Melbourne... again!
These idiots headlined sport again, in true lowbrow fashion...as per my earlier post on this subject, last night they pulled back on 10 and 7 but today, these idiots couldn't resist and, and placed Tiger at the top of the bulletin ahead of those people who died, or were injured, same old - same old - heaven forbid these fanatics might consider getting their priorities right...
and followed up by the equally abominable announcement of Melbourne being the "sports capital of Australia?" second item on 7, you wankers! big...fucking...whoop!
I am sorry for the cussing but these guys asked for it big time. This reinforces the fact that Melbourne is also, when it comes to media half-wits, shamefully the nation's major embarrassment-capital for morons and journalistic ineptitude.
7 Melb. is a nightly nightmare, news content continues to play second fiddle, not even 10 degenerated back to that level tonight, kudos for that 10 Melb. But 7? Bloody wake up you lot!

That's right. I let out a mansquee. For those of you who don't know, a mansquee is the more masculine version of a normal fangirl squee. Hey, for something this awesome, I should be allowed to fangasm just a little bit.
